Product catalog overview

Use your product catalog to manage the list of products & services that are available for purchase through your sites shopping cart. Organize your products into categories and sub-categories.

  1. Login to your site.
  2. Click the "store" tab to view the store manager.
  3. Click the "setup products" link to view your product catalog.

Managing product categories

Use product categories to organize your products list. You can create as many categories as you need. If you have a large number of products you can create multiple levels of categories, allowing customers to drill down to find more product information.

Viewing product categories

  1. Login to your site.
  2. Click the "store" tab to view the store manager.
  3. Click the "setup products" link to view your product catalog.

Adding product categories

  1. Click the "setup products" link on the main store manager page.
  2. Click the "Add Page/Category" link.
  3. Enter the category name.
  4. Choose the category location.
  5. Enter a brief description. (displayed in your product directory)
  6. Choose the default layout to use when this category is displayed on your site.

Viewing products on your site

When you create a product category a new page will automatically be added to your site to display the products in the category. You can choose to have this page displayed in your product directory, as a sub category, or in your main menu. To manage your product pages, click the "page list" button from the site editor.

Reordering categories

Click the "Reorder Categories" link in the main store category page to change the order of your categories.

Category properties

Use the category properties link to change the category name, change the location of the category in your product directory, and to customize the display settings for the category.

Adding products

  1. Click the setup products link from the main store manager page.
  2. Find the category for the product.
  3. Click the "add/edit products" products link next to the category name to view the category.
  4. Click the "add product" link to add a product to the selected category.
  5. Fill out the product details page.
  6. Click "Apply changes" to save your changes.

Setting up product ordering options

Use order options to collect additional information or to provide options for customers to choose from. Ex: if you are selling shirts - you can add options that allow shoppers to choose the size and color.

  1. Click the add option button on the product edit page.
  2. Choose the type of option that you want to add.
  3. Fill out the option information and click "Apply changes".
  4. Click "Apply changes" at the bottom of the product edit page to save your changes.

Product Options Setup

Select the type of option to add. Use product options to collect additional information from customers for a product. The options are displayed on the product detail page. To add an option, select one of the choices below.

Selection List

The selection list provides a drop down list of choices for customers. This is useful for options like color where there is a set of possible choices, but only one choice applies.

Use add on pricing if the price of your product varies based on the options selected by your customers.

Checkbox list (add on pricing)

Use add on pricing if the price of your product varies based on the options selected by your customers. This is useful for options where there are several choices, all of which can be selected.

Use an input field to collect a single line of text.

Advanced Entry

Use this to enter options manually (not recommended except for advanced users).

Setting product display options

Product icons

Check the product icon boxes to select which icons you want to display when customers see this product on your site.

Product details

Customize the display of the product detail page (the page customers would see when they click on the product for more information). You can choose the layout and where you want the product detail image to be displayed. Click the radio button next to the layout that you want to use for the product.

Uploading product images

  1. Edit the product.
  2. Scroll down to the product images section.
  3. Click either the small image or large image to edit the pictures.
  4. Choose the "Upload" button to transfer the picture from your computer to your web site.
  5. Click "Apply changes" to save your changes.

Upload & create thumbnails

Use the upload box at the bottom of the product edit page. Choose your upload options. You can choose any of the following options to upload the image and automatically generate a thumbnail/small image for the product catalog.
